Shares of Netflix Inc (NASDAQ: NFLX) are trading down after analysts at Morgan Keegan downgraded the company from “perform” to “underperform.” The company’s share price has doubled since February after the online DVD rental provider's streaming service showed strong results. NFLX’s shares have lost about 3% following the downgrade.
Gold moved into positive territory today. December gold contract is back at its 6-week high level. December gold rose 0.5% to $1,233.90 an ounce on the Comex division of the New York Mercantile Exchange (NYMEX).
The Energy stocks in the S&P 500 index collectively dropped about 1.3% today. The top decliners in the list that fell more than 2% include Consol Energy (NYSE: CNX), EOG Resources (NYSE: EOG) and Range Resources (NYSE: RRC). Shares of Smith International (NYSE: SII) and Schlumberger (NYSE: SLB) lost about 1%.
Shares of Citi Trends Inc (NASDAQ: CTRN) plunged after the company reported weaker-than-expected results for the second quarter. The company posted a Q2 loss of $0.04 per share, as compared to analyst expectations of a profit of $0.07 per share.
