Motorola Climbing After Earnings (MOT)
Mobile phone maker Motorola Inc. (NYSE: MOT) released its quarterly earnings this morning prior to the opening bell. The company reported Q2 net earnings of $162 million or $0.07 per share compared to the $26 million or $0.01 per share in the second quarter of 2009.
Adjusted EPS was $0.09 versus $0.03 in the year ago period. Wall Street analysts had anticipated the company would report EPS of $0.08.
Net sales were down 2% to $5.41 billion compared to $5.50 billion in last year's corresponding quarter. This was better than analysts' consensus revenue estimates of $5.19 billion.
During today's trading session, MOT shares have gained 1.95% to $7.83. In the last month, MOT has jumped over 15%.
