Alcon Reports Rise In Profits (ACL)
Alcon (NYSE: ACL) reported its quarterly earnings numbers after the closing bell on Monday. The company reported net earnings of $670 million, or $2.21 per share compared to $582 million or $1.94 per share in last year's second quarter.
On an adjusted basis, EPS was $2.22 per share versus $1.94 in the year ago period. This came in ahead of Wall Street EPS estimates of $2.03.
Sales rose to $1.89 billion compared to $1.68 billion in the second quarter of 2009. Analysts had anticipated the company would report revenue of $1.83 billion.
Management said that they anticipate EPS to be in a range of $7.45-$7.62 for full year 2010.
