Royal Caribbean Beats Earnings, Raises EPS Outlook For 2010 (RCL)

Royal Caribbean (NYSE: RCL) reports Q2 EPS 28c vs the Street view of 18c. Reports Q2 revenue $1.6B vs Street view of $1.62B. RCL sees Q3 EPS $1.52-$1.57 vs Street view of $1.51. Royal Caribbean sees 2010 EPS $2.25-$2.35 vs. consensus of $1.91.

Royal Caribbean said it sees business conditions are remaining on target in each of the company's main markets while improved cost control has enabled the company to raise its earnings guidance for the year. Operating costs were lower than expected due mainly to strong cost control, energy conservation measures, expense timing and currency fluctuations.

Shares of the cruise ship company are currently trading at $26.27‎, up $1.69‎ in pre-market trading.
