Some of the stocks that may grab investor focus today are:
Google Inc (NASDAQ: GOOG) is acquiring flight information software company ITA Software Inc in a cash deal worth $700 million. GOOG’s shares lost 1.23% to close at $439.49 yesterday.
Dell Inc (NASDAQ: DELL) plans to purchase privately-held Scalent. The company has not disclosed the deal’s financial details yet. DELL’s shares gained 0.17% to $12.05 in after-hours trading.
Amazon.com (NASDAQ: AMZN) disclosed Kindle’s new design yesterday. The company has also cut the e-reader's price by more than 20%, positioning it to compete in a better manner against the iPad. AMZN’s shares fell 0.01% to $110.95 in the after-hours trading session.
Blockbuster (NYSE: BBI) is likely to be de-listed from the New York Stock Exchange. The company did not receive sufficient votes by shareholders for a reverse stock split. BBI’s shares moved up 0.73% to $0.233 in after-hours trading.
