Thrive Cannabis Obtains Health Canada's Approval For Extract Sales

Thrive Cannabis, a manufacturer of cannabis concentrates and dried flower, confirmed Tuesday that it has obtained a sales license for cannabis extract products.

The Simcoe, Ontario-based company has designed a portfolio of Greybeard and Being brand products.

The newly developed concentrate products, including Live Resin Dabs and Vapes as well as Fast Acting Oral THC and CBD Strips, are planned for launch in summer 2020.

"We are extremely pleased to have received our extract sales license, a key milestone in our pivot from wholesale to branded retail," said Thrive CEO Geoff Hoover in a statement.

"As a craft cultivator with a deep passion rooted in quality, we believe that our products will set the standard by which all other concentrates will be measured."

Thrive’s Portfolio

The first product to reach retailers is Terp Slush, a Live Resin Dab product representing a version of high-terpene full-spectrum extract.

Thrive Director of Channel Management Bubba Nicholson praised the products' consistency.

"This slush is easy to scoop up for use in dab rigs and pens, ensuring a consistent user experience in every dose," explained Nicholson.

Tyson Cramer, the company's CTO and COO, further clarified the manufacturing process of Live Resin Vape products.

“Once the top colas of our 2019 outdoor-grown crop nearly hit 20% THC and a terpene content of over 5% in the field, we topped those trees and immediately froze them to lock it all in.”

Thrive's SVP of Marketing, Sung Kang, added, "our Live Resin vapes will be all about showcasing the high terpene content we work so hard to grow in the field and subsequently capture in every Greybeard Live Resin Vape cart."

Meanwhile, the company partnered with Canary RX Inc. to extend its cannabis operations.

Under the five-year deal, Canary allowed Thrive to utilize its 44,000 square-foot facility located in Southern Ontario, for indoor cultivation.

Thrive plans to expand its cultivation and processing capacities further, giving, in return, a share of the facility's overall proceeds to Canary.
