Italy's Police Seize $6 Trillion in Fake US Bonds

, Italian authorities have seized $6 trillion worth of fake US treasury bills from safety deposit boxes in Switzerland. As US Treasury bills are considered to be one of the saftest (if not the safest) investments in the world, fake US Treasury bills are a tremendous find--particularly in the multi-trillion dollar amount. Interestingly, this is not the first time officials have found fake US Treasuries. In 2009, Italian officials seized over $100 billion worth of the bills from a pair of Japanese businessmen.
