ETF provider iShares announced that it's seeking SEC approval for an Inflation-Linked Bond ETF that will focus on international bonds.

The ETF will track the BofA Merrill Lynch Global Diversified Inflation-Linked Index, which holds publicly traded debt denominated in the issuer's local currency. The index consisted of almost 170 countries at the end of August, including Australia, Brazil, Canada, Chile, France, Germany, Italy, Japan and the U.S.

iShares already issues the largest TIPS ETF, the iShares Barclays TIPS Bond Fund (NYSE: TIP), which has over $20 billion in assets.
