Apple (AAPL) Can't Keep Up With Demand For iPhone 3GS

Piper Jaffray analyst Gene Munster provided a preview of Apple's (Nasdaq: AAPL) earnings for the Sept. quarter. Munster noted that his team's channel checks indicated that demand is exceeding supply for the Apple iPhone 3GS.
"Our checks indicate that worldwide demand for the iPhone 3GS is outstripping supply. This strong level of demand, we believe, will support unit sell-through of about 7.5m units in the Sept. quarter, said Munster."
Piper Jaffray sees Apple beating the Street’s estimates because of robust iMac and iPhone sales.
Munster does not think the Apple supply shortage is a problem. "While supply constraint is a issue near-term, we see it as a long term positive, as worldwide demand appears to be very strong for the iPhone 3GS."
