An Upgrade Is In The Cards For Jarden (JAH)

Moody's Investors Service raised its outlook on consumer products maker Jarden (NYSE: JAH) to "positive" from "stable," saying Jarden has a strong liquidity and that the company has performed well during the recession.

Moody's also affirmed Jarden's existing ratings, including a junk rating on its corporate family debt. The rating of "B1" is characterized as highly speculative.

Jarden is the company behind popular brand names such as Mr. Coffee, Sunbeam and Crock-Pot. Jarden also makes Bicycle playing cards. Moody's also noted Jarden should perform well when the economy starts to improve.

Jarden is forecasting sales growth of 2%-4% in 2010.
