Tsipras wants to play chicken with Europe

CNN interviewed Greek Syriza leader Tsipras

• “If Greece leaves the euro, the next day markets will find out who's second: Italy or Spain” — he cites Merkel saying the same thing (but I don't remember her saying anything like that)
• “We don't want Greece outside the eurozone but we believe Madam Merkel is a big danger”
• “Everybody understands that with these policies we are going straight to hell”
• “I don't believe we will have benefits if Greece goes back to the drachma”

The market may take it negatively but he seems to believe that Europe is screwed if Greece leaves the eurozone. He seems to believe that he can leverage that into better bailout terms.
