Top Performing Narrow Indexes Today
The Dow Jones Industrial Average and S&P 500 finished moderately lower today. The Nasdaq market moved 0.28% higher to close at 2,183.53. The top performing narrow indexes on the trading session were Bill Collector Stocks, which climbed 5.9%, Human Resources and Talent Management Stocks, which appreciated 3.3% and Optical Networking Stocks, up 3.3%.
The best performing security in the Bill Collector complex was Portfolio Recovery Associates (NASDAQ: PRAA), which surged 18.28% to $52.54 after reporting earnings last night.
The number one Human Resources stock was SkillSoft (NASDAQ: SKIL), which gained 13% after agreeing to be acquired by a consortium of investors which included Bain Capital.
In the Optical Networking complex, JDS Uniphase (NASDAQ: JDSU) finished the day 6.6% higher to $9.25. JDSU shares have surged almost 17% during the last five days. The stock was upgraded at Morgan Keegan this morning.
