Taiwanese Stock Market Hits Another 52-Week High

The Taiwanese stock market rose to new heights during Friday trading, with the Taiwan Capitalization Weighted Stock Index hitting another 52-week high, reaching 8,659.62 at one point.

The Taiwan Capitalization Weighted Stock Index, or the TSEC weighted index, opened the Friday trading session in Seoul above the previous trading day's close of 8,585.77 and maintained its gains for the rest of the day, ending the day up 38.24 points, or 0.45%, at 8,624.01.

The TSEC weighted index traded between 8,618.26 and 8,659.62.

Investors who would like to invest in Taiwanese equities might want to consider the iShares MSCI Taiwan Index Fund (NYSE: EWT), which seeks to provide investment results that correspond generally to the price and yield performance of publicly traded securities in the Taiwanese markets, as measured by the MSCI Taiwan index.
