Update: Verizon Wireless to Sell iPhone in Early 2011 (VZ, AAPL)

The Wall Street Journal is reporting Wednesday that Verizon Wireless

will begin selling Apple's

iPhone in early 2011. Benzinga earlier reported that Apple was in the process of mass-producing CDMA iPhones, which would be compatible with Verizon. Verizon Wireless and Apple were not immediately available for comment on the report. A recent study by Deloitte found that close to half of Apple iPhone users would be interested in switching over to Verizon Wireless from AT&T

if that option were available. Shares of Apple are jumping this afternoon, to $289.46. Verizon are surging as well, up to $33.37. Story developing...
