Dell To Launch 7 And 10 Inch Tablets

Dell Greater China President Amit Midha has announced its plans to launch its 7-inch tablet in the upcoming weeks and a 10-inch tablet within a year. Dell Inc

has entered the tablet makers list following the launch of the iPad by Apple Inc

. Midha said, “It was showed off at Oracle World by Michael last week and we'll be launching very, very soon--within the next few weeks.” He added, “In fact, very much in the near future we'll be launching the 7-inch tablet as well as the additional 3-inch product.” Midha affirmed that the 7-inch tablet will run on Android OS, adding that some products will be Windows based. Last week, Dell had said that it was expecting its annual revenue to go by US$60 billion in the current year. According to Midha, Dell is expecting China to overtake the US as the biggest computer market by 2012. Dell also expects 18%-20% growth in China. Shares of Dell gained 1.55% to $12.91 at 1:08 pm.
