Airline stocks moved down along with the wider market, with Ryanair Holdings (NASDAQ: RYAAY) as the top loser in the list. Shares of AMR Corp (NYSE: AMR) moved down about 2.05%, Delta Air Lines (NYSE: DAL) fell about 2.53% and Alaska Air (NYSE: ALK) dropped about 1.16%. The NYSE Arca Airline Index (XAL) declined about 1.37%.

Shares of Oracle Corp (NASDAQ: ORCL) gained after the company named former Hewlett-Packard Co (NYSE: HPQ) as its co-president, replacing Chuck Phillips. Hurd had resigned from HPQ last month, during an investigation of a claim of sexual harassment against him. The company’s board did not find any evidence against him. ORCL’s shares surged about 6.5% following the announcement.

US financial stocks were the top decliners in the S&P 500 Index. The ETF's top losers were Hartford Financial Services Group Inc (NYSE: HIG) and Lincoln National Corp (NYSE: LNC).The Financial Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLF) fell about 1.72%.
