Olark.com's Zach Steindler: Differentiating from the Pack

Building an upstart isn't easy. That's why Zach Steindler, co-founder of Olark.com, wanted to help produce a site that was simple and easy to use.

“We integrate right with your buddy list,” Steindler told Benzinga during a recent interview. “You don't have to install any fancy software. You can use any…instant message client to talk with your visitors. And also, we travel with the visitor from page to page so it's not like some out of box experience. It's a very cohesive experience on the website.”

“I think the hardest thing for us has been making sure we're always focusing on building the products,” Steindler continues. “There [are] a lot of distractions as a co-founder – fund-raising, building the team, stuff like that. But what it comes down to at the end of the day, what we're really here to do is deliver a kick-ass product.”

Finally, Steindler says that the most important thing for any entrepreneur to do is to focus on the product.

“It's all about delivering that quality experience so people can kick ass,” he said.
