Matt Rizai is modest about his success. As the CEO of two innovative companies – first Engineering Animation, now
WebFilings.com
– Rizai knows a thing or two about building a company. But that doesn't mean he has a secret formula for startup success. “I don't think there's one hard formula for it,” Rizai told Benzinga during a
recent interview
. “Some of the approaches that may work for different types of startups may not work for others. That's why there's a lot of very smart, hard-working people that get together to come up with an idea to start a company.” Rizai said that on your first time through, you really just go with the flow. “You're excited,” he boasted. “This is what you want to do. And I think there's a lot less analysis of how are we getting here and what are we doing and more of [a] let's get it going thought process.” “I'm not only interested in the startup phase of the organization,” Rizai continued. “I'm very much interested in the organization's development and scaling the organization and seeing the different stages.” However, no matter what you do, and no matter how successful your firm becomes, Rizai said that you can only begin to appreciate every element after going through the process. “Whether it was successful or not, it's a process you have to go through,” he insists. “To be able to get the right people and create a culture – even if you only have three people – is the most important thing.” To hear more from WebFilings' CEO – including his love of building startups – don't miss Benzinga's
