Reuters reports that there is a proposal whereby hedge fund clients will be able to get capital raised by Morgan Stanley (NYSE: MS).
Morgan Stanley will charge clients a fee for this service. Jenkin Leung, the former MD of institutional sales at Lehman Brothers, has been hired to head Asian capital raising for Morgan Stanley. The capital raising team consists of six members and is called the alternative capital group. This team will be located at London, New York, Dubai and Hong Kong.
