Japanese Shares Close Low

Japanese stocks ended down 1.35 per cent on Wednesday as investors refrained from buying due to a strong yen and ahead of another batch of corporate earnings results, analysts said. The benchmark Nikkei-225 index fell 137.41 points to 10,075.05. The broader Topix index of all first section shares dropped 6.68 points, or 0.75 per cent, to 888.80.
