There's An App That Delivers Alcohol To Your Door At 1 A.M.

What do you do when it's 1 a.m. and you don't want to head out to a bar for last call, but might want a drink or two ? If you're living in London, England, there there's a new app to solve this problem.

According to Tech Crunch, Bevy will deliver on-demand alcohol to customers in select regions of London in under 30 minutes. The service operates Thursday to Sunday from 5 p.m. to 5 a.m. with eventual plans to become a 24/7 service.

The app uses GPS technology to track deliveries and users can order mixers, snacks, tobacco, vape products and condoms. Drivers and delivery staff are labeled as "butlers" and are dressed in the appropriate attire to match the name.

As noted by Tech Crunch, the mobile and online food delivery space has been existing for quite some time but an app like Bevy hasn't been seen before its launch in December 2015. The app is similar to Uber in the sense that Bevy doesn't own any of the wholesale stock much like Uber doesn't own any vehicles in its fleet.

Bevy has partnered with 24-hour off-license retailers which charges consumers the same prices as they would see in the store. Retailers take a commission from the sale and a percentage of the £5 flat delivery fee.

Bevy is currently partaking in a Series A seed funding round and a Series B round is likely to be raised through crowdfounding initiatives.

"The success of similar apps in the U.S. was hugely validating for us," Marco Saio, co-founder of Bevy told Tech Crunch. "Typically alcohol is hard to purchase in-store after 1 a.m. in the States, so if we hit a market where purchases can be made 24 hours a day, then we have the ability to democratize alcohol around the clock and feed instant gratification at any hour."
