Bin Laden Informers Arrested

The First Post
reported this morning that Pakistani authorities have arrested five informers suspected of helping the CIA find Osama bin Laden. Despite claims that there was a collaborative effort in place between the USA and Pakistan in the hunt for bin Laden, the Pakistan spy agency the ISI (Inter Services Intelligence) arrested the five men, all thought to be Pakistani. One of the men is believed to be a Pakistan Army major who recorded the license plates of visiting cars at the Abbottabad compound. It would seem then that the perceived cooperation between the United States and Pakistan doesn't actually exist. The punishment that these five men face is unclear, and no noises are coming out of Washington regarding stepping in to help the men that helped the US. The CIA's official line is that, "We have a strong relationship with our Pakistani counterparts and work through issues when they arise." But how they will work through this latest issue remains to be seen.
