Trian Fund Management Invests $145.7 Million in Pepsico

Nelson Peltz's Trian Fund released its 13-F filing after the closing bell on Monday. In addition dumping their stake in Peets Coffee (NASDAQ: PEET), Core Logic (NASDAQ: CLGX), and Consol Energy (NYSE: CNX), just to name a few, the hedge fund added a big position in Pepsico (NYSE: PEP).

The new 2.35 million share position in Pepsico was about 5.5% of the total Trian Fund, with the size totaling about $145.7 million. Shares of Pepsico are trading over 2.25% higher, bucking the overall trend with the S&P 500 trading about 0.25% lower.
