There has always been a stigma attached to
Apple Inc.AAPL
's computers: They are more expensive than PCs.

However, in some instances, especially on a larger scale, that stigma proves to be unfounded.

Jamf, a company dedicated toward helping organizations succeed with Apple's products, hosted Fletcher Previn to give a presentation at its Jamf Nation User Conference.

Previn is the vice president of workplace as a service at International Business Machines Corp. IBM. He explained that back in 2015 IBM, allowed its employees to decide for themselves if they want to use a Mac or Microsoft Corporation MSFT Windows-based computer. At first, 30,000 of the more than 400,000 plus employees chose a Mac, but that number has since grown to 90,000.

Previn went on to say that IBM discovered that as a whole, its workers who use a PC place not only twice the amount of support calls but they are three times more expensive. In fact, IBM saves $273 to $543 per Mac compared to a PC over a four-year lifespan.

Meanwhile, 73 percent of IBM's workers who use a PC want to switch to a Mac. Meanwhile, IBM is deploying 1,300 new Macs each week.

"Every Mac we buy is in fact continuing to make and save IBM money," he said.
