Windtree in a press release said that data from its lung deposition study in non-human primates demonstrated that Windtree's proprietary aerosol delivery system, dubbed AEROSURF, is able to achieve deep lung devlivery of a surfactant - a substance that helps make breathing easier.
Bad News
On a subsequent conference call, the company told analysts and investors that the phase 2a trial is taking longer than initially expected. Site startup has been slower than anticipated.
In addition, the company has not yet identified the proper dosage needed to enroll some younger babies in the study.
