6 Stocks Moving After Hours: Medical Data, Earnings, Non-Timely Filings

U.S. stocks traded slightly lower on Tuesday as investors digested additional comments out of Federal Reserve members, which suggested a rate hike could come soon.

Palo Alto Networks Inc PANW tumbled more than 4 percent in after-hours trading, as the market processed its Q4 results. EPS of $0.50 were in line with the Street’s consensus, and revenue of $400.8 million, up 41.2 percent year-over-year, beat estimates by $11.1 million. Management said it expects revenues of $396 million to $402 million, below expectations for $402.23 million in sales. The non-GAAP EPS outlook of $0.51-$0.53 also missed estimates of $0.56.

H & R Block Inc HRB was down more than 6 percent. The company posted a Q1 net loss of $(0.55) per share versus estimates for a loss of $(0.53) per share. Sales of $125.2 million also missed estimates for $132.62 million.

Veeva Systems Inc VEEV gained more than 4.25 percent after the market closed on Tuesday, driven by a top and bottom line beat. Q2 EPS of $0.15 beat estimates by $0.02, while revenue of $131.3 million (up 33.8 percent year-over-year) came in $4.73 million ahead of expectations. Guidance was also strong.

AeroVironment, Inc. AVAV was down more than 12 percent following a very large top and bottom line miss. EPS of ($0.51) compared to estimates of ($0.17), and revenue $36.22 million fell short of the expected $37.81 million.

Hain Celestial Group Inc HAIN lost about 0.85 percent driven by the filing of a non-timely 10K.

The Medicines Company MDCO lost almost 10 percent in Tuesday’s after-hours session after the company shared an update on its dyslipidemia research programs for MDCO-216 and PCSK9si. The company reported that the MDCO-216 program had not met its upper statistical boundary for efficacy. This means the company can terminate it earlier than expected. In addition, management said that the summary data received from the Independent Data Monitoring Committee (IDM Committee), and included a recommendation to continue to MILANO-PILOT study.
