Mylan Unveils Generic Crestor Tablets

Mylan N.V. MYL revealed that it unveiled Rosuvastatin Calcium Tablets, 5 mg, 10 mg, 20 mg and 40 mg in the United States. The company said that tablet in different mg are a generic version of AstraZeneca's Crestor.

Mylan said it got final approval from the Food and Drug Administration for its Abbreviated New Drug Application (ANDA) for this product. According to the company, Rosuvastatin Calcium Tablets were used in combination with diet for the treatment of high triglycerides in adults.

In the last 12-month period, the company quoted IMS Health to say that Rosuvastatin Calcium Tablets, 5 mg, 10 mg, 20 mg and 40 mg, generated sales of about $6.7 billion in the United States.

The shares of the company advanced 2.78 percent on Wednesday.
