Allergan Says New Research Indicates New Attitude To Beauty As Women Seek To Score Over Youth On Confidence

Allergan plc AGN disclosed the results of a fresh International beauty trends study. Accordingly, women are more aware, as well as open to aesthetic improvement. The results also found them taking control of how ageing affects their look as a way to feel more confident about them.

The company named its study 'The Changing Face of Beauty: A Global Report' that focused on female beauty, which was no longer driven mainly by a desire to look younger. Alternatively, women want to have more control on how they appear as a way to transform as to how they feel as an individual.

Allergan SVP for International Medical Aesthetics, Caroline Van Hove, commented, "When it comes to women's beauty goals some key cultural differences are apparent. In Europe women embrace ageing naturally and subtly. In Asian markets, women want a more obvious transformation, while in the Middle East women want to look more beautiful with fast, enhancing results that accentuate their best features."

The SVP continued, "What is especially exciting about this new research is the discovery that women around the world are united by an increasing desire to control how their looks evolve with time. And whether through photography filters, makeup or aesthetic procedures, investing in beauty is their way of positively influencing their image."

The company did a study covering close to 8,000 women in 16 countries like Australia, Brazil German, Japan, South Korea, United Kingdom and the United States. Its objective is to shape its marketing, as well as, educational programs and inspire the development of products to address the developing beauty requirements of women around the globe.

The stock shed 3.65 percent on Monday.
