Controversy Pushes Tiger’s Ads Off The Screen

Prime-time broadcast television and major cable channels seem to have shunned Tiger Woods, following the controversy surrounding his personal life.

According to New York based Nielsen Co., the last prime-time ad featuring Tiger Woods was aired on Nov.29. The 33-year-old No.1 Golfer has suffered a major PR setback due to his infidelity issues. Wood has tumbled down from no.6 position to no.24 on Davie Brown Index.

Tiger Woods has endorsement agreements with several major corporations including Nike Inc. (NYSE: NKE), Accenture Plc. (NYSE: ACN) and Electronic Arts Inc. (NASDAQ: ERTS). Woods was ranked as the 4th highest paid celebrity in last 12 months ending on June 30, by Forbes’ magazine. In October, his career earnings crossed $1 Billion mark. Tiger Woods reportedly makes $110 Million per annum from endorsements and tournaments.
