FAA Ignores Boeing (BA) 777 Warnings
November 30, 2009 8:02 AM
The FAA (Federal Aviation Authority) has turned down recommendations by the National Transportation Safety Board to order replacements for suspected faulty parts in Boeing (NYSE: BA) 777 airplanes.
It is believed that these suspect parts can cause rare shutdowns in the air thus posing a huge safety risk. The FAA had asked Boeing to install redesigned cooling systems on some of its jets with Rolls Royce engines. However the order has been overturned ostensibly for lack of parts. Neither FAA nor Boeing were available for comment.
