Basic Food Flavors Inc. Continues to Make Products Despite Salmonella Contamination

Share

The Food and Drug Administration announced that the Las Vegas based company Basic Food Flavors, Inc. continued making and selling its products despite knowledge of a salmonella contamination within the processing facility.

The company creates an additive that produces a meat flavoring and is found in a variety of chips and soups. Due to their failure to immediately stop processing and distributing the product, over 100 recalls have taken place.

McCormick & Co. (NYSE: MKC) had its vegetable dip recalled as a result of these careless actions by Basic Food.

Although no illnesses have been reported, the company carelessly continued operation without addressing the issues brought up by the FDA.
