September 03, 2010 3:04 PM
Royal Dutch Shell (NYSE: RDS-A), Europe's largest oil company by market value, is in talks to sell its Finnish and Swedish refining units to Finland's St1. Shell has been looking to sell some of its refining businesses as refining demand has been stagnant in the past year.
The Swedish refinery can process 78,000 barrels per day. Shell sold a 90,000 barrel per day refinery in Germany last month. The Dutch oil giant is looking to sell $8 billion in assets by the end of next year.
