Mobytron Is Turning Gamers Into Traders

The 2017 Benzinga Global Fintech Awards saw some of the most innovative companies in fintech show off their products to high-profile financial executives and fintech leaders.

Here, we’re sharing the fintech insights and new products on display at this year’s BZ Awards.

The Company:

Mobytron is an online trading environment whose trading app, Mobytrader, is designed to turn video game fans into the next generation of traders. The app allows both inexperienced and veteran traders to make market predictions, either through live trading or in practice in the app's Trading Academy, a game-like interface.

The Pitch:

Mobytrader lets traders bet on the market through the lens of a gamified trading interface that presents values in the cryptocurrency bitcoin. For example, an investor can guess that a stock worth 56 bitcoins will be worth 58 millibitcoins in the next minute. If the stock hits that 58 level within the minute, the investor takes home that 58 millibitcoins. If the stock doesn’t hit the 58 level in the minute, the investor loses the bitcoins they put in.

At the 2017 Benzinga Global Fintech Awards, Mobytron creative director Andrei Balanescu explained how the social aspect of the app comes into play when you make a correct prediction.

“So now, when the graph hits my cell I just won, and in this moment I can share it with my friends, with my family. I can share it to social networks or via email,” Balanescu said.

The Future:

Mobytrader hopes to apply the fun of gaming to the volatility of investing through an educational and entertaining app.

“We started Mobytrader with one goal: to make trading accessible to everyone,” Balansecu said.
