Meet MelonPort: Blockchain Software For Asset Management

It's almost that time of year.

What does your company do? What unique problem does it solve?

We're building software for asset management, which allows a user to:

• Predefine parameters of the fund/portfolio.
• Manage the fund or portfolio within those parameters.
• Build an auditable/visible track record dramatically; Blockchain technology enforces this.

Through automation, traditional costs such as auditing, marketing and operational costs, fund administrator costs can be dramatically reduced, lowering barriers to entry.

Who are your customers?

Currently, we're in Beta testing phase targeting crypto fund managers initially with a view to broaden this out in year 2 to more traditional managers.

How long have you been in business?

One year.

Where are you located?

Switzerland.

Who is your company's leadership? What kind of experience do they have?

• Mona El Isa: Former trader at Goldman Sachs, promoted to vice president by the age of 26 and made the “top 30 under 30” list in Trader Magazine in 2008 and Forbes Magazine in 2011 after profitably trading the 2008 and 2011 crashes. Moved to Geneva-based macro fund Jabre Capital in 2011, before deciding in 2014 that the future of finance lay in blockchain technology.
• Reto Trinkler: Blockchain developer with background in mathematics from ETH Zurich. He started developing Ethereum smart contracts immediately after their launch in 2015.

Anything else Benzinga should know about your company?

Blockchain is the decentralized ledger that all but eliminates the need for trusted third parties in financial transactions and makes committing fraud virtually impossible. That research has resulted in MelonPort, which hopes to expand the blockchain revolution in finance.
