Financial ETF Negative On The Year (XLF)

Select Sector SPDR Trust Financial ETF(NYSE: XLF) is now negative on the year, having crossed the $14.40 point.

Shares of the financial ETF are now trading at $14.31, down 0.6% since 2010 began. It has had trouble getting over the key $15 area, which is seen as a technically bullish point. The ETF closed above the $15 mark on August 2 and since then, has been in a steady declinde down to the $14.30 area it is trading at now.

Market observers generally see the Select Sector SPDR Trust Financial ETF as a market indicator as the health of financial companies, and thus the ETF are bullish indicators for the overall health of the markets.
