John Hancock Funds LLC will file plans with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) in the coming weeks to bring actively managed ETFs to market. The company plans to file for an actively managed ETF that mirrors its lifestyle funds.

Hancock joins the likes of Pimco, Vanguard and T. Rowe Price (Nasdaq: TROW)(FREE stock trend analysis), among other ETF issuers that have filed plans for actively managed ETFs.

While more new actively managed ETFs are coming to market, the jury's still out on how successful these products will be.
