iShares Has Eyes For A New Ireland ETF

Share

Despite Ireland's status as one of Europe's PIIGS, the group of financially imperiled European countries that seem to attract more negative news than positive, iShares is planning to debut the iShares MSCI Ireland Capped Investable Market Index Fund.

The new ETF will track an index that holds 21 stocks with a focus on consumer staples, financials and materials names.

As is the case with iShares' plan to launch an Egypt-specific, the issuer is not the first kid on the block when it comes to plans for an Ireland-specific ETF. PowerShares and State Street Global Advisers have announced similar intentions.
