iShares To Launch U.S. Mid, Large-Cap ETF

Share

ETF issuer iShares is planning the launch of the iShares MSCI USA Index Fund, an ETF that tracks an index with 601 member companies that ranks companies in the top 85% of market cap in the U.S.

The top three industries in the index are materials, industrials and energy. Plans for an ETF of this nature are interesting considering the massive outflows from domestic ETFs that were seen in 2009.

Despite those outflows, this a space of the ETF arena that is loaded with competitors, so a return to favoring U.S. will probably needed to make this new ETF a success, at least in the near-term.
