Benzinga's ETFs Hitting New Highs (PKOL, TYH, ROM, EWU, FXA)
PowerShares Global Coal Portfolio(ETF) (NASDAQ: PKOL) found its place among ETFs that made a new high today. PKOL's high was at $28.16, but then it retreated slightly and now it trades at $27.98.
Tech rally pushed Direxion Daily Tech Bull 3x (ETF) (NYSE: TYH) to $163.18, which is its highest price ever. TYH currently trades 2.78% up at $161.94.
Another technology ETF, ProShares Ultra Technology (ETF) (NYSE: ROM) reached its new high at $48.48. ROM is 1.86% up and trades at $48.23. It can thank Apple (NASDAQ: AAPL) and Microsoft (NASDAQ: MSFT) for that success. MSFT is approximately 1% up and Apple (AAPL) gained 1.22% so far. Both stocks are in the Dow Jones U.S. Technology Index, and ROM corresponds to twice of the performance of that index.
iShares MSCI United Kingdom Index (ETF) (NYSE: EWU) and CurrencyShares Australian Dollar Trust (NYSE: FXA) have also reached their highs, EWU at $16.75 and FXA at $93.55.
