Silver bullion declined today and pulled down ProShares Ultra Silver (ETF) (NYSE: AGQ). AGQ fell 5.16% as it replicates 200% of the performance of silver bullion as measured by the U.S. Dollar fixing price for delivery in London.

Bear market ETFs are leading the gainers today. ProShares UltraShort Silver (ETF) (NYSE: ZSL) is trading 5.57% up on a bad day for silver futures. Silver dropped 2.5%.

Potential Reversals 3/19/10

We may have hit a pivotal turning point in a number of markets today. We will need to see confirmation of reversals early next week…stay tuned. Crude will finish the last trading day of the week 2% lower but will manage to hold onto the $80 level. April will go off the board next week and May will become the front month.

Gold (GLD) Down In Sentiment With Other Commodities and US Assets

Gold futures are closing down today approximately $20.20 to $1107.30 as other commodities and US assets fall in tandem. SPDR Gold Shares (NSEArca: GLD) are also down $1.90 to $108.44 on heavy volume of over 17M shares. With negative sentiment today in Greece and India tightening their base interest rates, commodities across the board are selling into the close.

The inflation numbers this week were tame with the CPI coming in flat and PPI at a negative 0.6%. The fears of inflation that I have are non-existent throughout Wall Street and the focus remain on possible deflation in the event a double-dip recession occurs.

Revisiting the UNG

With Natural Gas inventories grossly missing expectations for the past few weeks (coupled with bad fundamentals and a bad chart), the United States Natural Gas Fund (NYSE: UNG) has been falling like a stone. I have been an early and repeat short in the name and have suggested many times for readers to short as well.
