The inflation numbers this week were tame with the CPI coming in flat and PPI at a negative 0.6%. The fears of inflation that I have are non-existent throughout Wall Street and the focus remain on possible deflation in the event a double-dip recession occurs.

State Street To Launch Seven New Bond ETFs

State Street Global Advisors, the ETF issuing arm of State Street (NYSE: STT), has field plans to introduce seven new bond ETFs.

PIMCO To Launch Four New ETFs

Fixed income giant PIMCO has filed plans to launch four new bond ETFs, bolstering the firm's presence in the ETF arena. The PIMCO 0-3 Year Banking Sector Corporate Bond Index Fund will track the BofA Merrill Lynch 0-3 Year US Banking Index and may use swaps, derivatives and futures to accomplish its objectives. That's OK as PIMCO is one of the best at using those financial instruments.

WisdomTree To Launch Emerging Markets Debt ETF

WisdomTree has filed plans with the SEC to introduce the Emerging Markets Local Debt Fund ETF. The ETF will invest in government and corporate debt in the emerging markets. No ticker was disclosed.

Treasuries to Find a Short Term Bottom

I am detecting some large action in the ProShares Ultra Short 20+ Year Treasury ETF (NYSE: TBT) this morning. This ETF tracks twice the inverse of 20 year treasury prices; long story short, if you want to make money betting that treasury yields will rise and prices will fall, you would buy this ETF. This gives you a very levered bet very easily.
