Wall Street is focusing on the great jobless claims number that was just released, and futures are skyrocketing higher, but in reality, things are worse than they appear.
Jobless claims for the week ending November 20 showed a drop to 407,000, the best number all year. Except it's not a true number. It includes the seasonal adjustment. If you look at actual claims, they rose to 462,027, an increase of 59,000 over last week.
Wall Street doesn't care apparently, as futures are ripping higher. At last check, Dow futures are up 72 points, S&P 500 futures are up 9.30 points and NASDAQ futures are up 16.8 points.
