The Shenzhen Great Loong Brother Company, maker of the P88, claims that the Apple (NASDAQ: AAPL) iPad is a copy of the P88.

The P88 resembles a larger version of the iPhone and has been available in China for around six months now. Xiaolong Wu, the president of the Shenzhen Great Loong Brother company which makes the P88, gave an interview to Spanish national newspaper El Mundo. If the iPad comes to China, he says, “We won’t have any choice but to report them,” because “it will certainly affect our sales.”

According to Wu, the copy is not limited to the concept but even the screen and case design. Wu attempts to pre-empt the charge that the P88 is a larger copy of the iPhone or iPod, by saying that its functions are different. But anyone who sees the iPad and the P88 would know that the similarities are just superficial. The P88 has a 10.2 resistive touch screen and also a hard disk which runs on Windows, quite unlike the iPad. This so called cheap Chinese version also costs as much as $525.

How stupid is this? The ipad

How stupid is this? The ipad is basically a bigger version of the ipod touch or iphone, so in a way they have copied the iphone but bigger. If apple has supposedly copied the p88, they clearly have not. plus the ipad looks nothing like the big horrid, windows running brick the japs have made. They will not win the case and apple will continue to make the product.
