Hollywood movie Avatar has crossed the $2 billion mark in world-wide ticket sales, according to a report by the Wall Street Journal.
The James Cameron directed movie currently has $2.039 billion in worldwide ticket sales. The movie, which has already broken the world-wide box office record, is all set to break the domestic US box-office record. The record for the US box office is currently held by Titanic, which also held the world-wide box office record till last week before it was broken by Avatar.
Titanic, which was also directed by James Cameron, raked in $600.8 million at the US box office and $1.8 billion globally. Avatar, which currently has a collection of $594.5 million on the US box office, is produced by 20th Century Fox, a unit of News Corporation (NASDAQ: NWSA).
