GOOG Continues To Maintain Lead In Worldwide Query Share
According to Susquehanna Financial Group, “Last night, comScore released worldwide query data for February, which showed Y/Y growth of 28.4% (compared to 44.2% in January and 41.9% in February 2009). Market share trends were similar to those seen in domestic core query data; Google and Microsoft continue to see Y/Y market share gains, Yahoo! and AOL saw market share declines Y/Y, and Ask was flat.”
The report indicated that Google (NASDAQ: GOOG), at 65.2% worldwide query share, has maintained a strong lead in February. For the sixth consecutive month, Microsoft (NASDAQ: MSFT) has led the market in Y/Y growth. Meanwhile, query growth for Yahoo! (NASDAQ: YHOO) fell for the third consecutive month to 9.0% although its global query share remained flat. Meanwhile, AOL has declared its largest M/M query decline since comScore began reporting AOL ex Time Warner data.
