Global Equities Research’s Trip Chowdhry said that they had conducted their regular Tesla Motors Inc TSLA Factory checks around Fremont, California. Model X production seems to be still between 250 to 300 units per week.

Chowdhry commented that Tesla’s focus seems to be on getting the quality right, rather than on ramping up production immediately. He added that the event at the Fremont Factory seemed to be “hugely successful.” Customers with kids seemed to be excited about the Model X test drives, while those who came with senior citizens, felt that the seats of Model X were “a bit high.”

“The delivery truck activity seemed normal for the weekend...we only saw Model S's on the delivery trucks this weekend,” Chowdhry wrote.

"P" models, or Performance models, were about 30 percent, while the remaining were non-"P" models, which the analyst mentioned “is a normal trend, we have been observing.” He added that generally "P" models are priced $10,000 higher than non-"P" models.

Since TSLA now covers the back of the Model S, when they are on the delivery truck, so it is not possible to distinguish between "S" and "D" models. "D" models are priced $5,000 higher than "S" models, Chowdhry stated.
