One of Twitter’s long time investor Chris Sacca recently wrote a blog-post titled ‘What Twitter Can Be’ in which he expressed his views on how Twitter can innovate in a better way and broaden its appeal to users.

Scott Devitt, Stifel Research analyst, was on CNBC Thursday to weigh in on this.

Sacca Is Spot On

“I think, this is a very thoughtful [message] that he has put out [that] describes in detail several of the product opportunities that we have put forward in the past as well that Twitter should have executed on years ago. I may not agree with each individual assertion, but in terms of what needs to be addressed and fixed, I think, he is spot on."

No Shortage Of Views On Twitter In The Market

On what he makes generally of a large shareholder of a tech company going public with his reservations and views, Devitt said, “I think, that there is a culture in Silicon Valley that restricts someone doing this on a typical normal operating [procedure]. But with Twitter this has been going on for so long now that well I don’t know the details in this since, so, I would assume it got to the point where Mr. Sacca felt like it was time to an express a view because there is certainly no shortage of those in the market today on Twitter.”

Costolo To Remain CEO By Year End?

Devitt was asked if Dick Costolo will remain Twitter’s CEO by year end. He replied, “I believe that if the products improvement do accelerate and the company executes on a plan that would look similar to this then he absolutely is, if not then it would be challenging.”
