In a report published Thursday, JPMorgan analyst Rod Hall discussed recent reports that
GoogleGOOGLE
is developing an Android Wear app for iOS, a move that would expand support for the wearables platform beyond Android handsets and enable iPhone and iPad owners to use products like the Moto 360 and the LG G Watch. Hall cited reports from a French publication 01net that further suggested that iOS support options could be announced at Google's I/O developer conference in May. However, Google's ramp schedule may be pushed up if initial Apple Watch sales are high enough to pose a threat to the existing Android Wear ecosystem. "Our experience with products like Pebble has been that Apple does not provide great connectivity for third part products," Hall wrote. "We suspect the Apple Watch will have enhanced connectivity that far surpasses what Google would be able to achieve in iOS." Bottom line, Google's move to bring Android Wear support to iOS has a "neutral impact" on Apple.
