Cody Willard, chairman of Scutify and former hedge fund manager, was recently a guest on #PreMarket Prep, a daily trading idea radio show hosted by Joel Elconin and Dennis Dick.
GoPro Pressure?
Although noted for favoring high-growth technology stocks, Willard cautioned that GoPro Inc GPRO may soon face margin pressure as Chinese cam-makers pose growing competition.
Which ever way the wind blows for GoPro, video chip-maker Ambarella Inc AMBA may benefit, he added.
"They've got protection with proprietary technology," Willard said of Ambarella.
In Thursday afternoon trading, Ambarella is up more than 5 percent. GoPro has gained 3.6 percent.
Earlier this week, Pacific Crest mentioned in a note that Ambarella is attractive due to a diversified product mix, in addition to its camera chips.
