JP Morgan’s Rod Hall commented on Cisco Systems, Inc. CSCO following Day 2 of CES 2015.

Hall noted that Cisco “launched a new set top box called the “Worldbox” in collaboration with Charter.”

“Charter said that they secured a waiver from the FCC to implement downloadable security software instead of implementing it in hardware. The new box is based on a Broadcom chip and is cheaper than existing comparable boxes,” according to Hall.

Ultimately, Hall saw the new device as having a “neutral impact” on Cisco.

Cisco Systems recently traded at $27.17, up 0.44 percent.
